7th - 14th May - Donkey Week at The Donkey Sanctuary
International Donkey Week is a holiday with a difference - a chance to have close contact with The Donkey Sanctuary's resident donkeys in glorious settings. Activities on offer during Donkey Week include guest speakers, social events, wildlife walks, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to meet and groom the donkeys throughout the week. Daily trips are arranged to visit our outlying farms, which are not usually open to the public. Each farm has different qualities and at all farms, visitors can take tractor trailer rides to see the beautiful views or meet the donkeys enjoying the spring sunshine!
14th - 16th June - Sidmouth Literary Festival
The Sidmouth literary festival by the sea offers a rich menu of author events for book lovers and writers. Over the June weekend, many authors visit Sidmouth for lectures, seminars and workshops.

2nd - 9th August - Sidmouth Folk Festival
With an ear to the past and an eye on the future, this festival features established stars and emerging talent; major concerts, lively roots parties; small intimate sessions; ceilidhs and folk dancing; storytelling; fun family entertainment and youth-centred sessions; hands-on workshops and spectacular dance displays; the best in South West crafts and the tastiest of local food and drink.

24th - 25th August - Sidmouth Regatta
Annual regatta with sporting events, musical entertainment and family fun! Hosted by Sidmouth Sailing Club, as well as sailing races there will be sea and shore-based activities, a raft race and ‘Shop Window Competition’. On Saturday the day is ended with live music and a grand firework display.
5th - 13th October - Sidmouth Science Festival
Visit Sidmouth Science Festival for hours of entertaining and thought-provoking events including talks and workshops. Learn about fossils, stars, energy, light, weather, brains, rockets and much more. Look inside a dinosaur. Race a jet car. Get involved in a technology workshop. Visit the gallery of schools’ art. Celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with female speakers. A whole week of family-friendly events which are educational as well as fun. Something for all abilities and all ages. Something for everyone.
