The health and safety of our guests, families and staff are our highest priorities. We are working hard to ensure that when you visit The Royal Glen, you can be confident of the steps we are taking to minimise the spread of Covid-19 to keep your and your family safe. OPENING DATE    

The Government has not yet given a definite date for Hotels to re-open. However, we anticipate being able to welcome guests soon. We are therefore accepting bookings from the 5th of July. All bookings can be changed or cancelled free of charge until the date we re-open. No deposit is needed.


CLEANING & SANITISING 

Training has been made even more stringent in the preparation of your room for your arrival.  Cleaning of public spaces is being carried out throughout the day. There will be hand sanitising stations at all entrances and other key areas.  Guests can choose whether they wish their accommodation to be serviced during their stay. We will be following Government guidelines regarding the use of PPE.


SOCIAL DISTANCING

Our small team makes it possible for us to work and follow the social distance rules.  We have all undertaken further training in the control of virus infections.  All staff will be temperature checked on arrival for work, and be required to self-certify that they have not been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms.  Any staff member who shows symptoms will be immediately sent home and will be required to self isolate for 14 days prior to returning to work. Staff will be required to change into work clothes on the premises and to wash their hands frequently. 


CHECK IN 

Guests will be able to check in by telephone the day before arrival to make their requests. We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 or are unwell that you call us to postpone your visit.    An expected arrival time will make your arrival smooth.  We have multiple entrances and exits so that guests may use their dedicated door nearest their room.  


DINING

The Restaurant will have strict social distancing measures and hygiene regulations in place so you will be required to book a time for your breakfast or dinner.  You may choose to take meals in your room; there will be no service charge.  Full Table Service from the Bar will be available throughout the day; and our delicious lunch time Bar Meals.  Morning Coffees, Afternoon teas including Traditional Devon Cream tea or Sparkling alternatives all available as normal; Picnic Meals and Packed Lunches too.

We have added more seating areas throughout the garden so that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility whilst social distancing.  The ‘Glen’ will operate at a lower occupancy from normal for your comfort.


CHECK OUT  

On check out, you may have chosen to pay by online banking.   Payment may be made by the card details given to us.  Call reception to check out and leave your key in the room.  


FACILITIES

The Pool and Gym will not be open until Government Guidelines enable us to operate this facility safely.

We have missed welcoming and sharing our beautiful area and the Royal Glen and are excited to extend our usual warm reception to you All.


OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

We can offer help with details on all the diverse walks and open spaces close by or further afield in our area.  These include the Jurassic Coast, East Devon Heathlands, Dartmoor and Exmoor; and those walks immediately on our doorstep too.  We have a wealth of knowledge about Cycling Routes as well.
